Using massage therapy to relieve stress is one of the most common reasons people get massages.  Simply put, it can be very relaxing.  That’s only one of many benefits of massage though.  Studies have shown there are substantial health benefits from massages such as:

  • Stress Reduction/Management
  • Relaxation
  • Improved Circulation
  • Improved Lymph Fluid Flow
  • Injury Rehabilitation
  • Rejuvenation
  • Improved Immune System Functions
  • Reduction of Muscle Spasms or Cramps
  • Reduces Blood Pressure
  • Helps Reduce Depression and Anxiety
  • Aids in a Faster Rehabilitation Time After Injuries
  • Reduces Pain From Tension Headaches and Migraines
  • Aids in Post Operative Healing

There are several more benefits than what is listed here.  This list is to give you some insight as to the power massage has on our bodies.  There are some more obvious benefits to using them such as:

  • Ultra convenient ~ You can bring your massager with you when you travel as most of them are small and light. Basically you can use them when it’s convenient for you.
  • Simplicity ~ Massagers are very easy to use.
  • Low Maintenance ~ Other than changing batteries when needed – and that’s only if yours doesn’t plug into a socket – there is very little to do in terms of maintenance for your massager.

In general, using electric or manual massagers allows you to take advantage of these benefits under your control.  You control the when.  You control the where.  You control what body parts you need to concentrate on for maximum results.  It’s all about you and focusing on your body’s needs.
